Driving Contest
Charlie Sifford 275 yards $100
Mike Souchak 261 yards ?

Golf World reported: "The little bridegroom among the touring pros is now the greatest money winner of the year in PGA tournaments. Last Sunday, Bob Toski, 127 pounds, added $4,000 to his taxable income by winning the Eastern Open at Mount Pleasant GC, Baltimore, with 66-69-70-72—277, seven shots ahead.

"His third major triumph of the year made his earnings total $10,988.74. No wonder he was kissed heartily by the red-haired girl he married at Miami in December, Lynn Stewart. She followed his every shot, rain or shine.

"Charles Sifford, Philadelphia Negro, won $100 for a 275-yard poke in the driving contest. Mike Souchak was second with 261 yards."
